Company outing 2026 –
a varied day
in the Appenzell region

Our company outing this year took us from Wattwil into the impressive hill country at the foot of the Alpstein. Virtually the entire workforce participated in the trip. We were particularly pleased that our Chairman of the Board of Directors, retirees, and invited guests also accompanied us on this day.

After a leisurely start with coffee and croissants, we set off by coach in the direction of Appenzell. A varied morning program awaited us there.

Appenzell tradition and fascinating insights into permaculture
At the Bischofberger AG, which is known far beyond the region for its «Bärli-Biber,» we learned a lot of interesting facts about the history of the traditional pastry, its ingredients, and its production in the interactive exhibition. Of course, one or two sweet tastings could not be missed.

At Knechtle Permaculture we gained an exciting insight into the herb garden and the basic principles of permaculture. We learned how self-regulating ecosystems can be designed and utilized. The wealth of information and practical examples led to interesting conversations and new food for thought.

High up on the Hohe Kasten
After these two agenda items, the journey led us on to Brülisau. From there, we took the cable car up to the Hoher Kasten.

Arriving at the top, the culinary finale of our excursion awaited us. In the revolving restaurant, we enjoyed a fine lunch together – while the imposing mountain panorama hid quite modestly in the fog that day.

The company outing offered plenty of opportunity for conversations and encounters away from the daily routine of work. Together we were able to spend an atmospheric, interesting, and sociable day.

Special thanks go to the Bischofberger family and Eliane Manser's team for their warm hospitality and the interesting glimpse into the world of Appenzell Biber. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Nicole Knechtle for the exciting and educational tour of the herb garden and the vividly imparted knowledge about permaculture.

A warm thank you also goes to the team of the Hoher Kasten revolving restaurant for the delicious lunch and hospitality high above the Appenzell region, as well as to the Domo Car company for the pleasant and safe ride during our excursion.

Thus ended a varied company outing that provided us with many interesting facts, culinary delights, and, above all, wonderful hours spent together.
